Do you want to purchase German Government securities and have them held in custody without any charges?
If you do, then open a debt register account with the Finance Agency. You can dispose over your German Government securities on this account in the same way as on an ordinary custody account. You can place orders for the purchase and sale of German Government securities conveniently online, by phone or mail, or by calling personally at our branch in Frankfurt.
As a precondition for opening a debt register account you have to authorise you through the PostIdent-procedure at a German post office. Therefore you need to take your passport or identification with you.
Alternatively, you can proof your identity by visiting us in person at our Frankfurt branch. Here you will get additional help and detailed information about the application process and German Government securities.
The following list gives you an overview of all the instructions (in German language) you can issue to us when opening a debt register account:

If you already hold German government securities, you can transfer them from the custody account with your bank, on which you may be paying charges, to your free debt register account.
If you wish to buy German Government securities immediately through your bank and then have them transferred directly to your debt register account, you should notify your bank accordingly when you place your purchase order. Make sure that your personal details on the bank’s transfer form agree with the details on your account application form, or enter your debt register account number if this is already known to you.
